Struggling with
Legs & Hips
Improve range of movement, remove knots and relieve strains in the legs & hips
Common Causes
Running
Heavy impact from each running stride can cause tendon strain and inflammation around the knee joint
Cycling
Incorrect bike set up and repetitive strain over long rides can lead to pain around the knee and hips
Weight training
Lifting heavy weights and repetitive movements can leave muscles feeling sore
Skiing
Prolonged squat positioning combined with quick changes in direction can cause pain to the knee and leg muscles
Did you know?
2x Body weight
Your knees carry over twice your body weight with every step and even more when you run.
Sports massage reduces tension in surrounding muscles, easing joint pressure.
Massage speeds recovery
Better circulation means faster healing and less soreness after exercise.
Cupping flushes waste, boosts blood flow, and helps your legs bounce back.
Tightness = missalignment
Stiff quads and hamstrings can cause poor alignment and knee pain.
Sports massage releases these muscles, restoring balance and easing discomfort.
The Knee in Motion
Your knee is a powerful hinge joint where the thigh bone meets the shin bone, with the kneecap helping everything move smoothly. Cartilage cushions the bones, ligaments keep the joint stable, and your quadriceps and hamstrings power every step by straightening and bending the knee.
The Nerve Highway
Just above the knee, the sciatic nerve branches into the tibial and common peroneal nerves. These nerves control movement and sensation in the lower leg and foot. When irritated, the sciatic nerve can cause tingling, numbness, or pain that travels down the back of the leg.

Typical Treatment
A typical treatment cycle is between 3-6 weeks with 45 minute massages focused on relieving tension across targeted muscle groups.
Soft tissue massage and stretching of the quads, hamstrings and calf muscles. Massage to the surrounding areas of the knee. Cupping therapy of the IT band may be beneficial to reduce inflammation. Foot massage to relive tightness of the achilles tendon
Possible areas of focus:
Quadratus Lumborum (QL): A muscle in the lower back
Gluteal Muscles: The muscles in the buttocks
Erector Spinae Muscles: Muscles along the spine
Hip Flexors: Muscles that flex the hip joint
Soas Muscle: A hip flexor that attaches to the lumbar spine
A range of soft tissue massage techniques and pinpointing knots around targeted areas, alongside joint mobilisations and stretching is used to alleviate tension.
